The Mayor wants to use up to $1-Million in CPA funds to redesign an inaccessible park.

“The Parks, Recreation &Cultural Affairs Division is planning a design and construction project for Temple Street Park. The department will hire a professional designer to work with residents in the neighborhoods surrounding the park to develop a design for the Temple Street Park construction project. The project will include increased overall accessibility of the site and its amenities, new play equipment, poured-in-place safety surfacing, ADA-accessible walkways and site furnishings, fencing, improved drainage, site lighting, and landscape features.” BUT…. You can’t get there, and only a handful of homes have access. The neighbors don’t even want the park to be rebuilt as its a dangerous area.

Mike Cannon says it best in the 11/29/2022 City Council Meeting

  1. Charlie, the Arlington St park is a joke.
    More wasted money.
The city should put a For Sale sign on the Temple St park. It’s another city owned property thats costing tax payers.
Sell it. Put some money in the bank.
Let someone develop it and collect the property taxes and fees.
