The following is the statement from Lt. Rachel Mickens of the Framingham Police.
“At approximately 0140 hours this morning, Officers were dispatched to the area of 30 Interfaith Terrace for a report of gunshots. With the help of community members cooperating with the investigation, six shell casings were discovered in the area and a description of the suspect vehicle was given to the Officers on the road.
A short time later, K9 Officer Mangano located a vehicle matching the vehicle description and attempted to make a traffic stop. The vehicle fled the traffic stop and crashed on Hollis Street. Officers observed a male matching the description of the shooter flee from the car into the woods behind the homes along Hollis Street. K9 Isco, a dual purpose patrol/narcotics K9 was deployed and quickly tracked the suspect who was hiding in the thick vegetation. K9 Isco began alerting on the suspect who followed Officers commands and was placed under arrest without incident. A firearm was also recovered from the scene.
This case shows how cooperation between residents and police leads to a quick resolution. Thank you to the Officers and our K9 for apprehension of the suspect, but a big thank you to the residents who called and assisted with this investigation.”
