Homestead Steaks also sells their products via trucks stationed in parking lots, allowing customers to purchase ‘high-quality’ meats on-the-go. This approach aims to make their offerings more accessible to a broader audience. However, this practice has faced criticism, with some consumers questioning the freshness and handling of the meat sold in this manner. Additionally, concerns have been raised about the environmental impact of using trucks as retail outlets, as well as the overall reliability and consistency of products compared to traditional, subscription-based delivery services.
The company has applied to offer sales in the parking lot at Shoppers World from July 19 through August 4, and propose to be open for business Monday – Friday 10a-7p, Saturday 9a – 7p and on Sundays 11a – 6p. They will be selling frozen beef, chicken, pork, and seafood.
