JULY 23, 2024 – 9:50PM

FRAMINGHAM- Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Framingham Chief of Police Lester Baker have confirmed that Lance McDonald, age 37, of Framingham, Massachusetts, has been convicted of two counts of rape, one count of armed robbery, one count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and one count of wiretap violation in connection with sexually assaulting a woman at the Red Roof Inn in Framingham.

On April 25, 2022 the defendant arranged to meet the victim, a 42-year-old woman, in response to an advertisement for sexual services. When the defendant subsequently met the victim at the hotel, he physically and sexually assaulted her. He also grabbed a knife and threatened to kill her, before striking her in the head with a coat hanger and robbing her.

The victim reported the incident to police, and investigators were able to identify the defendant based on photos provided by the victim and a surveillance system screenshot from the hotel. During a subsequent search of the defendant’s phone, police located a recording of the incident, which he had taken without the victim’s knowledge or consent.

Lance McDonald was convicted today in Middlesex Superior Court. Sentencing is scheduled for July 31, 2024.

This case was investigated by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Framingham Police, and the Massachusetts State Police, including the Massachusetts State Police Crime Lab. The prosecutors assigned to this case are Benjamin Woolf and Bayley Weese. The victim witness advocate is Joseph Bernstein.
