Chapel Hill East is at it again. After trying to cover up (both management and condo Board of Trustees) from the residents a serious Asbestos situation, behind-the-scenes condo fee-structuring has once again been kept from the unit owners. A few years back, during condo conversions (from commercial to residential) on the first floor at Chapel Hill East, demo was taking place, unleashing toxic mineral/asbestos particles. Oh yes, and without proper permits. When management and board members heard of the situation, they tried to keep it from others. It was only when a concerned elderly man dropped a dime to the building department, that the proper mitigation took place. These same conversion condos are, again at issue, as these units’ owners are paying exorbitantly lower monthly fees than those of the existing same size units. A slightly different formula was used, probably to confuse the masses, but my real estate lawyer daughter has helped to explain what’s going on so that I make others aware. Shame on CHE, again, for trying to deceive and possibly cheat the (mostly elderly) condo owners.
