UPDATE 9/24/2020 5:30PM – The yellow uninhabitable sign is ripped off the door. A young man was seen entering the premises. It appears Relax Spa has reopened. The city should be ashamed of itself knowingly allowing prostitution within our storefronts.

Some of these businesses might be legitimate businesses who might be advertising for legitimate services in inappropriate places… anything is possible.

On Sept 15th the Framingham Department of Public Health, the Police, and Inspectional Services was on site at Relax Spa at 847 Edgell. They ordered the business closed.

The State’s Department of Public Licensure called the City and filed a complaint that the spa was performing bodyworks without a valid permit. In a second call, an investigator for the state reported concerns that people were sleeping on site.

Framingham Health Inspector Michael Mendez in his inspection report wrote, “Met Ashley Dizel with the Division of Professional Licensure onsite. She believes someone is living here. Upon her arrival a lady was sleeping in a room who arrived last night from NY.”

It appeared that the massage rooms were being lived in, he documented, “A fridge, washer, dryer, shewer, crockpot, instapot, and micowave observed.”

If the massage beds are being lived in? Where are the massages supposed to happen?

The decision for shutting down the parlor via a cease and desist order was made for “no valid permit”. This sign was affixed to the door.

While this shut down occured just over a week ago, we were unable to obtain the health inspection until today. In the meantime we made some titillating discoveries on our own.

The Relax Spa, has been owned and operated by Lixia Chen out of Marlborough since at least April of 2019. A sister spa, “Health Spa (Foot and Body Works) under her ownership is located at 135 Turnpike Road in Marlbrough.

Our research found hundreds of adult ads offering linked to the phone number for Relax Spa (774-447-9999), the same for Health Spa (646-991-9966).

The ads for Health Spa are quite old, going back to June of 2019. One ad reading:
“Best service, professional young massage technician 100% New & Young asian girls 100% Professional massage technique，Waiting You You will definitely want to come back. ☎️：646-991-9966 Open : 9:00am-10:00pm  / 7 day a week Address ：135 Turnpike Rd, Westborough,MA 01581 💜We are new lovely girls.💜 💖We want to be the bright spot in your day today.💖 🍎Are you looking for a truly satisfying place among the many massage spas? 🍎”

Another ad was more explicit:
“We are new lovely girls. Our girls love to provide you the best body to body massage at 135 Turnpike Rd, Westborough,MA 01581. Hot masseuse are providing Nuru Massage. Are you looking for a truly satisfying place among the many massage spas? Clean and friendly young masseurs will treat you like a king. We provide the Best happy ending experience in 135 Turnpike Rd, Westborough,MA 01581″

The ads for Relax Spa were current, and some even posted the day of the raid.

This ad was posted on September 15th:
“💚Hey, Gentlemen 💚Welcome to here 🔴Im ready to give you the Best Service !! 🌸If you’re looking for that girl next door look, a sweet yet sexy unrushed time I’m your girl. 💚1OO% Real Young Sexy 🔴rivate Clean Comfortable Rooms, Soft Music 🌸New Asian Grils，100% Young New Feeling，Waiting You Open：9:00am-9:00pm / 7 days a week ☎️☎️：774-447-9999 Address: 847 Edgell Rd,Framingham,MA 01701 🌸This will be an unforgettable experience. 🌸Relax Spa is your best choice“

Our research on these two spas shows that this is just the tip of the iceberg in regards to massage parlors in and around Framingham.

For example, Meini Spa at 136 Pond Street in Ashland has a phone number (508-904-9252) linked to adult advertising online. The ads for Meini Spa and Health Spa are shockingly similar. Click to enlarge ads below to compare.

Wellness Place at 186 Union Avenue downtown also has their phone number appearing in adult ads online. They have postings as recently as two weeks ago, such as the ad below.

Lets continue, Framingham Bodywork at 235 Walnut Street has their phone number also listed in adult ads online. This ad was posted just two months ago.

Bodywork is a real trade. It requires licensure through the state and requires training. We have nothing against bodywork. These businesses listed give the trade a bad name.
