They say, once a ticket is written… seemingly not the case for Tusino.

The rumor is this. The Mayor was given a municipal owned vehicle to be used during his time in office. Spicer had one, so when he assumed office, one was purchased and ready for him. He declined it as it was a campaign pledge to not do wasteful things like use a city owned vehicle. He wanted to appear to be an anti-Spicer Mayor.

So the story goes, that he didn’t return it to the department who bought it, which would have been the right thing to do, and instead gave it to his right hand man – his fixer, Michael Tusino, the Chief Operating Officer.

The story goes on that Tusino didn’t like parking in the municipal lot space provided, and preferred to park on the street, where he incurred tickets. Lots of them. Overtime parking, and failure to pay the meter.

The police had to tell their officers and ‘meter maids’ to stop ticketing Tusino.

That’s where we hit our dead end… We filed a FOIA…

And another dead end. So we filed an appeal to the state, claiming that the we didn’t ask about municipal plates and instead asked about city owned vehicles. They claimed this would be too hard to determine in 2 hours.

We submitted a last FOIA telling Tusino to be honest about the tickets he got and where they all went. We’ll see what happens.

Either Tusino got tickets and somehow they all disappeared, or he never received any at all, and multiple sources are wrong. I was always under the impression that once the ticket was written, it could not be stopped, retracted, or voided by the officer writing the citation. Perhaps in the lawless vacuum of Framingham – that too, just a fable.

It must be nice to not have to follow the laws when you are in charge. I wonder who fixed, this fixer’s mess.

  1. Really not much of a story, CC needs to give the big guy a little slap on that shiny head tell him to smarten up. You want the car? park in the parking lot stop embarrassing this administration. Should be plenty of spots, as there are so many openings throughout the city. Down 30 in DPW, there is no Con Comm staff as of now. Sandwich boards looking for employees, reads come aboard the good ship Framingham, lots of work, not lots of pay. You too can do more with less!
