With a Mortgage of $1,800,000 and a full sale value of $2,250,000 the property housing Slade Animal Hospital has been sold. The buyer is a LLC out of Maine called Keeper Borrower Sub LLC, with a registered agent of Sage Friedman. The LLC was formed on 9/1/2022.
Sage Friedman may only be the legal filer, attorney, and the true intent of this new incorporation or the people behind the purchase are unknown.
Keeper Borrower Sub, LLC is linked to a Connecticut based corporation formed days later on 9/7/2022 called Keeper – North Branford, LLC, with paralegal Sharon Giggey at Murray Plumb & Murray as the contact person for the state of CT filing.
The registration in CT links us to a address in Portland Maine, of 1 City Center, 4th Floor.
On the 4th floor are a few businesses and entities that we can identify, ICE has an office, HUD has an office, Community Housing of Maine has a office, as well as a commercial developer Monks O’Neil.
While we can’t identify the organization purchasing Slade, we can tell you that the CT LLC just purchased the land and building housing the Veterinary Center of North Branford on October 18 for $650,000.
We also have identified links to a business called Rare Breed Veterinary Partners.
We will continue investigating, however our suspicion is that The Slade Veterinary Hospital has been purchased by a corporation, one of a handful that has been gobbling up independent animal hospitals, and hiring the existing vets to work for them, offering profit sharing to the former owners. Has Rare Breed Veterinary Partners made an inroad to Framingham?
Regardless of what comes next for Slade, former Slade owner – Anita Migday, DVM, did sell the property which she has owned since the 80s. Prior to her ownership, the business namesake Edward Slade ran the business in the 70s. The transaction was finalized on December 6, 2022, and likely ending the independent operation of this nearly 50 year old business. Current clients of Slade may see changes coming.
