The City announced on August 22nd, that it was launching the Framingham Government Academy, a series of six educational workshops led by department directors and elected leaders from multiple City departments. The intent is to educate residents in the complexities of city management and strategies for leadership.
“With this knowledge, participants will be better equipped to advance their neighborhoods and improve quality of life, and be prepared to serve on boards and commissions and engage in the decision-making processes,” said CIO Kelly McFalls.
The first session on Thursday September 5th was led by the mayor. The final session on November 14th will include a graduation ceremony.
The city received 70 applications but only accepted the first 20, not considering the rest. The roster was filled minutes after the announcement.
