UPDATE: On April 3, 2023, the Disability Commission voted to first deny the application for handicap accessible variance, their request to not conform to handicap accessibility requirements for a period of 5 years… claiming none of their congregation is currently disabled. The disability commission went one step further to order that the church make the changes to be handicapped accessible within 3 months.
After last month when Mike Hugo suggested that those diagnosed as being handicapped, be terminated before birth and made national headlines. The Christian Congregation of the United States, the church owner, proposes specifically excluding handicapped members by excluding access for 5 years.
