Marian High School to become community/sports center. City to close on property for 4-5mil this week.

Marian High School to become a community & sports center. The city will be paying between 4 and 5 million dollars for the former school. The sale is expected to close within days.

The City Council discussed purchasing the property in executive session on June 27th.

The school was purchased by organization Invictus Forever, Inc. for $2,600,000 in December 2020. Signing on the dotted line on behalf of Invictus Forever, was Carolyn Langer, President, and for the Roman Catholic Church, Cardinal Sean O’Malley.

The property was never developed into a clinically theraputic school/program for autistic youth and young adults as promised by the organization and the city offered an out to Langer, a sweet profit on the real estate. At the time this was announced our research showed that the organization lacked the expert leadership and financial resources to make their dream happen, and we predicted failure.

The property is assessed at approximately $8-million dollars.
