The purchasing entity is a foreign entity out of Delaware which formed on August 15, 2023 who does business out of Paramus NJ. This entity owns the Shoppers World entity. It appears parent company is Urban Edge Properties, which recently purchased Gateway Center in Everett. Shoppers World was assessed by the city at $139-million and was purchased in this deal for less than half the assessed amount.
The city proposed a hotel and entertainment overlay zone for the Shoppers World area, which would allow and even encourage the building of such structures. Shoppers World could become something like Apex Marlborough if the city zoning board and city council approve the measure, which has been back-burnered for a year.
