In an undercover sting, a health department informant finds store illegally selling menthol cigarettes, under code phrase “Small Mango”. This isn’t DTF. This is in Nobscot… north side, at the Nobscot Convenience Store. Menthol cigarettes have been made illegal for sale in Massachusetts. It is illegal to sell out of state cigarettes and these are cigarettes purchased from South Carolina. South Carolina premium brand cigarettes, at retail range from $6 to $8. This store was selling their pack, illicitly for $15.
The store is appealing a 3-Day Permit Suspension, the appeal goes before the Board of Health on Tuesday Feb 20 at 7pm. A fine of $1000 was issues along with a cease & desist letter. See the documents below.
